Description
The Symphony No. 9 by Clive Strutt is in TWO parts: Part 1 comprises nine settings of poems by Federico Garcia Lorca (in English translation) for vocal resources and orchestra; Part 2 comprises a single purely orchestral movement entitled "Ainadamar (18:ix:1936)". Lorca was executed by firing squad at the place known as the Fountain of Tears, and this is depicted towards the end of the piece by the use of four rifle bolts and four pistol shots.
